Around the world, focus is shifting to the youth. The UN seeks to open up dialogue and resources for strategies, action plans and frameworks that can engage, involve and mobilise youth around the world. This survey will garner ideas and input that could potentially be included in the UN action plan.
The United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon open addressing to youth on the survey form states “This is why I have decided to appoint a Special Advisor on Youth, and why we are developing an Action Plan to guide the whole UN system in our work for and with young people around the world. […] With young people across the world demanding a voice as never before, the United Nations wants to hear from you. What are your concerns? What are your hopes? What should the United Nations be doing to help?“
The five priority areas identified by the Secretary General on which the action plan will focus are:
- Employment
- Entrepreneurship
